03-19-2012: Rejekted Kauses and Card 13 at FoCoMX 2012.
|
We are pleased to announce that resident artists Rejekted Kauses and Card 13 will be playing FoCoMX 2012! This is a local music festival and unlike similar festivals across the country, FoCoMX is serious about representing various musical scenes. So clear some schedule place as there is some ear-melting noise represented.
Rejekted Kauses will be playing at 11:45pm on Friday April 13th. Card 13 will be playing at 8pm on Saturday April 14th. Both artists will play together with other Fort Collins noise mongers, and the crowd, as a part of Die Eisenhauer at 11:45pm on Saturday April 14th. All shows are at the GNU: Experience Gallery venue which is always an awesome place to check out if you ever see anything going on there.
Tickets for the entire festival of 300+ bands are on sale online for $15 until April 1st at which point they go up to $20. So if you plan on going buy tickets early. Also you can get in for free if you volunteer for 4 or more hours.
We would like to thank the Fort Collins Musicians Association for organizing such a huge event and also for having the cajones to book noise acts at a local festival.

11-01-2011: Rejekted Kauses: NeVr ForGet ShiT HaPPenS
|
From the back cover: "When I think about the morning of September 11th, 2001, and the following weeks, all I can remember is the feeling of information overload. It was everywhere, all day, all night. From serious news reporters to yellow journalists, no one could talk of anything else. You could rest assured that despite anybodies feelings or opinions about the event, there was more than enough to talk about to fill your head past capacity. Ten years later, it can still feel a blur. And at the end of it all, no matter what you think may or may not have really happened. Innocent people died that day so that somebody, somewhere, could feel like they were getting their point across.
NeVr ForGet...sHiT HappenS" - Rejekted Kauses
We couldn't have said it any better.

09-11-2011: Card 13 Guest Track on Machine Gun Weather Album!
|
Resident artist Card 13 made an intro track for Denver hip hop group Machine Gun Weather who counter rap's consumerist culture with a very punk and DIY ethic. You can get the free download of this album here.
Although MGW does not fall into the noise and experimental nature of this label we appreciate their efforts to return authenticity and true art to a style of music that all too often displays nothing of the sort. In this effort we are more than pleased to host the download of this album.
Who knows? Maybe we might see a new wave of noise-hop in the future?

08-27-2011: Make Noise, Remix War 2011!
|
Card 13 and Rejekted Kauses, the same duo who brought you "The Education of Wormwood" teamed up again for a one off practice session. They were reviewing it and another artist stepped up to remix it, then another, and another. It only seemed right that we open this one up to the public.
So here it is! Siatris Records is giving you Make Noise, Remix War: 2011! It's a chance to get your hands on a track and show us what crazy ideas you have! It's a long track so it will be released in installments once completed but the event ends December 1st 2011!
The rules are really open, we only ask that the source material be recognizable in some way. Other than that it's freedom and chaos for all.
So head over to the download page, then crank up those old DAWs, turntables, processors, or any other devices you have laying about and show us what your love of noise sounds like!

07-23-2011: Rejekted Kauses + Card 13: The Education of Wormwood!
|
Harsh Noise meets Industrial Strength Noise! The combination of Rejekted Kauses and Card 13 serve up a battle of atonal structure versus chaos that bounces across the noise spectrum like some sort of twitched ADHD rainbow child.
The title serves a dual purpose to the artists. Rejekted Kauses likening the process of education to the character of Wormwood in C.S. Lewis's The Screwtape Letters. Card 13 recorded this album during his discovery of Wormwood via his own education of Artemisia absinthium, though the misunderstood spirit of Absinthe.
Together the artists unite old and new approaches of noise into a wonderful conflict that displays not only the history and influence of each artist but of generations of noise art as well. Enjoy!

02-14-2011: Card 13 - Ror luciftian Caosg ors Graa
|
Rumors abound about the night of the lunar eclipse and Winter Solstice when this was recorded. Blood offerings, ritual trance, dizzy spells, and those are just the believable ones. Card 13 wouldn't have it any other way, and isn't clear answering any questions about it either. The only thing we do know is that Card 13 has trouble listening to the entire recording as he is prone to falling into trances while listening to it.
The name of the recording is the first line in the poem that accompanies the titles to the tracks. The poem was a moment of inspiration after the ritual experienced by the artist and is in the Enochian language. Unfortunately for most of us here at Siatris that just means long hard to spell titles.
It only seems appropriate that we relase this recording on our first anniversary. A Lupercalian ode to the mysteries of the past and the dreams of the future.

12-10-2010: Qui Art with Hellequin - The Illustrated Book of Bedtime Stories
|
How to make a darkly disturbing ambient-noise album, by Siatris Records.
Step one: Mix a noise band with a live remix by an ethereal ambient artist.
Step two: Perform said shows at an underground art night and a creepy basement rehearsal.
Step three: Use texts from Russian authors and nightime stories for children as lyrics.
Step four: Enjoy! (you creepy, creepy, bastards.)

10-31-2010: Card 13 - Those Who Sleep Beneath The Ashes
|
After he plowed through an hour long noise set last night, we are more than proud to release Card 13's RPM Challenge effort from earlier this year.
This album is comprised of noisy dark ambient soundscapes with spoken word poems ritualistically added to the top of each track. Truly a haunting effort and ripe for those tapped into the Samhain energy tonight.
Also on this recording is the industrial artist Asbestos and the nethereal titan of ours, Hellequin! So sit back dim the lights and get to know the nature of Card 13 tonight!

10-04-2010: Qui Art - SIN is now Released!
|
Finally after much digging and searching Siatris records has unearthed Qui Art's 2008 all noise effort SIN! this album features a near forty minute ambient noise track from the trio as well as Hellequin's chilling remix of the entire track, all in one huge release that will barely fit on a single CD.
SIN marks the trio venturing off into some serious explorative and improvised noise. For the first time homemade instruments are used as well as a more dedicated approach towards a wall of sonic hazardry. You'll hear remnants from the F noise tracks as well as some sounds that have become staples of their live shows.
This release also marks the first release from Siatris Records to be available in mp3 (320 Kbps), Ogg Vorbis (350 Kbps), and Wav (44.1 K) formats. We are still working on finding the material to do this with our back catalog but rest assured that future digital releases from us will be made available in these formats and at the highest quality possible.
Oh yes, downloads are still available in .zip or .rar according to your preference.

09-20-2010: Hellequin - Bits, Pieces, and Fragments Released!
|
Hellequin's first album "Bits, Pieces, and Fragments" is a collection of early works from the dark ambient composer. The album is divided into three sections according to the title.
The first section of "bits" are arrangements of found percussion, from fists on a milk jug to soda cans beaten by a crescent wrench. The second section of finished "pieces" are full compositions using traditional instrumentation as well as noise and found percussion. The third section is loaded with "fragments", which are tests and incomplete or rejected versions of songs. The album culminates with the title track taking all three sections into one meshed composition.
This is the begining of one of the more interesting artists in the dark ambient genre. Not content to create sparse minimalism with synthesizers, Hellequin instead opts for a more organic and hands on approach to sonic creation. Later works from Hellequin showcase his ability as a remixer and effects artist, but something always keeps us coming back to this album for a listen down the experimental avenue. The beasts are certainly there howling in the dark.

09-06-2010: Qui Art - F is Finally Released!
|
The wait is over! Siatris Records is proud to announce the release of Qui Art's 2008 effort "F". The recording is currently available in 192kbps MP3, but will soon be available in OGG and WAV format as well once the original masters are decoded.
F was recorded in multiple sessions with the instruments crammed on to a single track, and edited on computers that had no business doing any music editing. The sound quality of such an endeavor shows through, and the songwriting is... well... listen and find out. Although this is certainly not the best release, nor the most novel from this band, it does have moments that have become fan favorites since the self-release in 2008. Including the "butt-rock" songs that Qui Art is known for randomly performing in the middle of their noise sets. Enjoy!
Stay tuned for more releases from Qui Art as well as the rest of the roster in the coming weeks.
Noise is love.

06-27-2010: Hellequin Signs to Siatris Records
|
Some things are inevitable. The sun will fade and die, the cosmos will collapse, and Hellequin will sign to Siatris Records. As a long time collaborator and friend of everyone at Siatris Records, Jesse Cogswell's solo project has graced the speakers of everyone associated with this venture.
Hellequin has signed to a two ablum deal, the first of which will be a re-release of his self-released limited edition LP "Bits, Pieces, and Fragments". This release sets the groundwork and feel for what has since become a monster few can reckon with. Check out the SoundCloud page of Hellequin to listen to samples old and new from this haunting dark ambient composer.

06-15-2010: Qui Art Signs to Siatris Records
|
This weekend at Denver's Transistor Electronic Festival, Qui Art signed to Siatris Records!
Qui Art has been making free-form harsh noise in the Colorado area since 2008 and often encompass old school techniques at their live experiences. The shows are notorious for the use of power tools, firearms, and random broken electronics. They have self-released two albums; F, and SIN, but insist that the best way to see them is live.
The artists have signed a five album deal that includes all past releases and some new releases, including a joint live CD with dark ambient artist Hellequin.
Look for their back catalog to be released soon under a Creative Commons License.

02-23-2010: Website! What Website?
|
Currently at Siatris Records we are busy behind the scenes checking licensing, processing forms, and doing other fun stuff that comes with the territory. Not to let everyone else hang out in limbo for too long we have set up pages on social networks which you can find on our contact page.
Also for those curious we have posted a links section to other labels that promote music similar to what we will. Of note is aReW Recordings and Backwards Records. When Siatris Records was just a fledgling idea aReW Recordings popped up and did what we wanted to do, release experimental music for free. Backwards Records features plenty of great artists and is the not-so-secret reason that Qui Art is playing a show February 27 in Denver, Colorado. If you are in the area we highly suggest checking out this event featuring many other noise/industrial acts.
Collaboration between other labels is a central goal that Siatris Records has. Experimental music is hard enough to find as it is. The best things that we as fans, can do for other fans, is to help get the word out about other projects going on, even if it has nothing to do with us.
Noise is love.

02-15-2010: Welcome to Siatris Records!
|
Today the old Romans would have celebrated the feast of Lupercalia. An ancient holiday even to them it seems. And so with the honoring of the wolves, today marks the day in which Siatris Records also enters the public domain. From ancient inspirations to the digging of new ground, our roster represents local pockets and underground talent that seeks to capture something. Something more than just a pretty tune or a catchy beat. Here at Siatris we all think a bit differently.
Likewise, this record label takes a new approach; as the old ways of business are dying. No longer can labels be about money hungry fat cats with more interest in profit than art. The public has grown too wise to these ways. The artists as well have felt choked by big label requirements.
Instead Siatris Records is forming with a proper outlook for both musicians and their fans. The role of a label is one of a facilitator, thus Siatris exists to connect the artists with their fans. Artists retain all rights to their music when working with us. True artists love their art and make it regardless, or even in spite of, financial and economic situations. With this in mind Siatris Records plans to continually release free digital music under a creative commons license. That way artists can get what they truly want, to be heard, and fans get easy access to hearing them.
For those with a more audiophile or physical approach we will be offering both CD's and high quality vinyl records in the near future. Not to mention other merchandise to help anyone wishing to support the bands that they love.
Though these beginnings may be humble and strange to some, rest assured we are here to stay. Like the pre-Roman pastoralists who ended up creating an empire, may our small cabal grow into a beast that shake the world out of it's slumber.
Noise is love.
